» Ester oils versus genuine plant oils

The term ester oils and the oils referred to by this term had no significance whatsoever in the field of natural cosmetics until a few years ago. Nowadays, however, these oils are developing rapidly among certain manufacturers. What is the reason for this? And how do they differ from genuine plant oils?

Oils: extremely important in terms of the quality of care products

oelIn skin-care products such as creams, oils constitute the primary component and are extremely important in terms of the product's effectiveness. As we know from cookery, good plant oils are a delicacy and an ideal combination of health and flavour. In cosmetic products the wide range of active ingredients in oils, which also makes them so valuable in food, plays a key role. Scientific investigations repeatedly confirm the healthy effects of an apple and fresh fruit and vegetables. Food supplements are a helpful addition but cannot replace truly natural products. Why not?

• Because an apple contains a whole range of valuable ingredients such as vitamins and minerals and the combination or synergy of these ingredients is what creates its beneficial effect. The same is true of genuine plant oils.
• They are particularly beneficial for the skin: plant oils combined perfectly with your complex chemistry. They are an ideal partner for the skin's chemistry and therefore provide a key to healthy, firm, fresh skin.
• This cocktail of high-quality active ingredients consisting of genuine plant oils also includes vitamins, polyunsaturated fatty acids and secondary plant ingredients such as flavonoides and phytosteroles with their vitalising, regenerative effects.
• Each integrated plant oil is a rich cocktail of active ingredients with a unique effect.

How do ester oils differ from plant oils?

OelEster oils are becoming increasingly popular as an alternative to genuine plant oils. These oils provide a certain "silicone-effect". This means that they spread evenly on the skin and make the skin feel soft.
• With an integrated plant oil such as olive oil or almond oil, the only thing that ester oils share is the word "oil". Ester oils are synthetic "creations" made in a laboratory. Their production begins with the separation of a plant oil. The separated fatty acids are then combined with glycerine or other alcohols to create new compounds.
• The richness of the effects of genuine plant oils is largely lost with ester oils. This is particularly true of secondary plant ingredients which play an important role in the protection and regeneration of the skin.
